An American woman's "purse" is more accruately a "handbag" to her British cousin. A British woman's purse is the small bagcontaining her money and credit cards which she keeps inside her handbag!

Visiting Britain? Be careful with the word "suspenders" - to us it's an item of women's lingerie and you might get us all excited...
